I was talking to an old friend/short lived boyfriend from highschool and the topic of sexualities came up. He identified as bisexual throughout highschool but told me that recently he doesn’t know what he was and just preferred to remain ‘unlabeled’ until he figured it out. I told him to his face “thats valid man and being unlabeled doesn’t make you any less queer than when you were labeled”
God you should’ve seen his fucking face, he looked so happy and also like he was about to goddamn cry. He told me that no one ever told him that. That he tried to join queer spaces but they said he didn’t fit in cause he wasn’t ’gay’ enough. Told me that I was the first person to ever confidently tell him he was queer and that he didn’t need to change himself to ’fit in’.
I gave my friend one of my mini pride flags I had lying around and the dopey grin he had on his face while waving that thing around for the rest of the night made me smile too. When he finally went home he thanked me for the flag and for reassuring him when he felt insecure for 'not being gay enough’.
I want y'all to know that whole time he telling me about people not accepting him for “not looking queer” made me fucking pissed. Oh, because he’s not petite, feminine, and white he can’t be queer? Because he doesn’t look like a fashionable and conventionally pretty gay on you’d find on your TikTok homepage he can’t be queer?

In highschool I had ANOTHER friend who had this same problem but in a different font. He liked cute things, he liked flowing fabrics and skirts, he even liked being called princess! But because he was fat and not conventionally attractive he felt like he couldn’t be queer. Because from what he saw, queer people don’t look like him.
If you’re one of those people who would gatekeep ANYONE who doesn’t fit into your Pinterest board ideal version of queer from the LGBTQ+ community, you can fuck right off because anyone who would just shut of someone out of our community for something so petty and dumb and ignorant doesn’t deserve the keys to the fucking door in the first place.
Start treating people who don’t fit into your saturated and commercialized view of queer with more respect and kindness before I start biting off your fucking arms
People that think someone is less queer for not using a label or not looking a certain way need to look back at our roots

I know I already made a post about this. But ICWA is LITERALLY being challenged by a white couple that wants to adopt indigenous children to Christianize them. The tribe, whom has a say in who can take their children, is like “Nah, we don’t want our youth Christianized like you tride last time”
And the lawyer that’s helping the white couple try to overturn ICWA (so that they can convert indigenous children) is doing it pro-bono (which means he’s not charging the couple anything).
AND that lawyer is a big time lawyer whose clients are usually oil and gas industries. He’s literally fighting for indigenous children to be ripped from their tribes and culture so there’s less indigenous people to protest big oil destroying their sacred land.
this is cultural genocide. it happened when jewish children were stolen from their families during ww2 and given to christian families to raise as christian, it happened with residential schools where american indigenous children were stolen to have their culture beaten out of them, it happened to australian aboriginal children when their government literally tried to breed indigenous australians out of existence. we cannot let this keep happening. we cannot allow white christians to continue to steal our children and rob them of their culture and family and community.
So when Elon Musk bought Twitter and basically chopped it at the knees, I was a little worried for Tumblr as well as the rest of Internet meme culture, because a huge number of the ha ha funny pictures people post are tweets. I thought, oh no, a large part of meme culture is dying.
Little did I know that Elon Musk allowing anyone to buy a blue check would make Twitter go out in a blaze of beauty and glory not unlike a sugar maple in October.
i need all fat people who want top surgery to know you are not too fat for top surgery. a competent surgeon and anesthesiologist team will make things work for you regardless of your size. if one doctor gives you shit about your weight or bmi or outright refuses to operate on you, get a second opinion. go to a second doctor. go to a third doctor. go to a million doctors until you get what you want. the dual combo of fatphobia and transphobia in medicine cannot keep us down. you do not need to be skinny to change your body how you want to change it. you do not need to be skinny for top surgery.
not super comprehensive and limited to the US, but this is a quick list of surgeons for both top & bottom surgery that either have no BMI limit, high ones, or unknowns. regardless, anyone telling you that you’ve got too high of a bmi to operate on is full of crap. you do and should not need to lose any weight to be able to access gender-affirming care. you deserve better healthcare and providers who respect you & your body
People think of children as either sweet and innocent or too stupid to cause much trouble and both views are wrong. A child of elementary school age has the moral reasoning and impulse control of a racoon paired with problem solving equal to or superior to an adult’s, yet unbound by the shackles of cautionary experience or awareness of long-term consequence.
This is what allows the children to both create a black market in live bioweapons while still only valuing said weapons at 25 cents.
